Intro to Web Development: CSS

Queen City Bytes is partnering with Charlotte Mecklenburg Library to help you learn the basics of CSS. This class is friendly for entry-level and beginners!
This month’s workshop is all about CSS. During this time, we will coach you through best practices, semantic structure, tags, and more using MDN’s free getting-started guide.
In this class we will building off of our previous HTML class, which builds upon a simple home page to kickstart your next website.

ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Alyssa Lemon is a Developer at Wray Ward, an advertising firm here in Charlotte. She believes that everyone should have equal access to technology education and strives to bring resources and information to more and more people in the community. In her down time, Alyssa enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking and anything dog-related.
Cristina Veale is a technology consultant, product experience manager, and developer who has been coding since 2014. Cristina’s passion lies in technical instruction, mentorship and community building. When she’s not teaching, you can find her boating on Lake Norman, learning about permaculture gardening, or watching YouTube videos on F.I.R.E.
How to Join the Program:
This event takes place on Zoom. Please register by 9:00 a.m. Friday, July 30th, before the event. You’ll receive an email with a link to the secure Zoom meeting about 24 hours before the meeting.
This program is being recorded and will be made available on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library YouTube channel. Recordings may also be used for staff training. If you do not wish to be recorded, you are welcome to turn off your camera and/or edit the information displayed in Zoom. Efforts will be made to edit out personal information wherever possible at the discretion of library staff.
